Pinecone ClassMeet Teacher Audrey
Teacher Audrey serves as the teacher of Capitol Forest Cooperative Preschool’s Pinecone class, Parent Educator and SPSCC Supervisor.
An educator at heart, Audrey has a particular love for early childhood. In 2006, she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in Early Childhood Development and Child Psychology. She holds an elementary teaching certificate and taught kindergarten in the public school system for ten years, primarily in Medford, OR.
When Audrey and her family relocated to Olympia in 2017, she joined a local preschool co-op with one of her daughters to connect with other families and gain a sense of community in their new home. She fell in love with the co-op model of early childhood education and chose to join CFCP’s team of educators.
Teacher Audrey’s Philosophy
Teacher Audrey focuses on the Montessori Method as a best practice in the early childhood field and is in the process of obtaining her Montessori credential, completing the coursework and residency portion of her Montessori certification program. She is passionate about embedding Montessori philosophy into the daily routine in the Pinecone classroom.
Fun Facts About Teacher Audrey
Teacher Audrey feels blessed to be a wife and mother of three beautiful children, Amelia, Abigail and Joshua.
Born and raised in Montana, Audrey grew up in a small farming community and her family runs a fourth generation ranch that she, her husband and three children visit often.
Her favorite things include her family, preschool, coffee and chocolate, reading, baking, tennis and hiking.
